Julia Ioannides

Originally from Western Australia, Julia Ioannides is a trained jeweller now living and working in Melbourne.

With a background in Fashion and Textile Design and Fashion Technology, she undertook formal training in gold and silver smithing and object design, where she refined her technical and sculptural approach to making.

Working primarily in recycled 18ct gold and fine silver, Julia uses hand fabrication and lost-wax casting to create pieces that hold the imprint of the making process. Tool marks, surface texture, and small imperfections are left intact, treated as part of the story rather than something to be polished away.

Influenced by historical femininity and the symbolism of her Greek and Italian heritage, Julia creates contemporary jewellery that explores themes of opposites, emotion, and memory. Her jewellery pieces are designed as small treasures; objects to be worn often, kept close, and passed down.

Alongside her contemporary work, Julia’s precious collection and custom commissions incorporate fine metals and stones.

Most pieces can be made in alternative metals upon request. Gold pieces are quoted according to current material prices. For commissions, pricing, or enquiries, please email.
